TYGER TYGER by Kersten Hamilton
TYGER TYGER begs for you to dive in and explore the wonders of Irish folklore flowing within the pages.
When I first read the synopsis of this book, I knew I was in for a great adventure filled with danger and goblins. I’ve not read too many books dealing with goblins but Kersten’s world building and Celtic mythology had me sold. I absolutely adore the fantasy genre and when it’s done right, I find myself wanting to immerse myself deeper into the world that was created. Kersten’s TYGER TYGER did that for me.
The characters in this book are well crafted. Teagan, the main protagonist is so level-headed for her age. While it doesn’t seem like she has a care in the world at the start of the book, things soon go awry when mysterious and self-assured Finn steps onto the scene. Talk about swoon worthy – he totally had me wrapped around his every word and movements. I wanted to know more about him. When Teagan finally realizes the imminent danger surrounding her loved ones, I had a hard time putting this book down. I enjoyed following along as Teagan and Finn teamed up to save her family from the evil goblins.
This book is a great start to the Goblin Wars Series. It’s fresh in a market saturated with werewolves and vampires. But ultimately it’s the world building and folklore that stands out in this book. Kersten’s imaginative writing is sure to grab readers who are looking for something different. I know I can’t wait to see what dangers the characters will be faced with in the next installment.
